How to counter the King's Gambit in a rare and interesting way!

The King's Gambit, the aggressive opening which survived the Romantic Era of chess found many supporters over time, even former World Champions Garry Kasparov and Magnus Carlsen played it successfully. If you're afraid as Black of the opening, there might be a chance that you will find a rare and interesting counter which you can apply in your own games by studying this month's Lichess Game of the Month.

By September 5th, several of your best games of August were shared via our forum post, via Mastodon, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Telegram.

Conditions to submit your Game of the Month August: Only standard games (no variants), only submit one game per user (additional games will be ignored), and must have been played September 2023 only!
